The Canadian and Somali Festival Day on July 1, 2025 was a great success, filled with excitement and community spirit. Hosted by SEMCY, Teams including Toronto Tigers, Steer Academy, Hilaac FC, Dixon FC, Horsed Kitchener SC, Hamilton Tigers, the Eritrean team, and SEMCY. Showcased their talent and unity. The day celebrated both Somali Day and Canada Day, bringing cultures together in pride and friendship.
Special guests included City Councillor Frances Nunziata (York South–Weston), MPP Mohamed Firin (York South–Weston), former MPP Faisal Hassan, and local school trustee Liban Hassan, who all joined in marking this vibrant occasion.
